Description: | As a student registered with any of the three major areas of study in the Department of Fine and Performing Arts at Nipissing University (AHVS, Studio, and Film), you will have access to unique research and exhibition opportunities that foster professional development through exciting and interactive collaborative ventures with senior artists, gallery owners and community leaders. Small class sizes with a friendly collegiate spirit, award-winning instructors who share extensive and interdisciplinary connections in the field, ample studio space, and a breathtaking natural environment in which to work are major strengths of our program.
No portfolio is needed to apply to the BFA program at Nipissing University. Students will complete a portfolio in their 3rd year of study once they have had instruction in the fine arts at a university level in order to move into the final studio year of the program. Our BFA program specializes in: drawing, sculpting, painting, and print making.
For students who do not continue into the final year BFA they can transition into a BA specializing in Art History and Visual Studies or Film Studies.
This program is eligible to be paired with our concurrent education option for those students interested in earning their BA or BFA and BEd.
